Small Business Reorganization Act of 2019 Resources:
The new Subchapter V of Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code went into effect on February 19, 2020.
Public statements from various cosponsors of the Senate version (which is the final version signed into law), include:
"The strength of Rhode Island's economy depends on the strength of the nearly one hundred thousand small businesses that have set up shop here. We need to improve the bankruptcy process to give smaller employers who are struggling better tools to get back on their feet and preserve jobs." -- Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (RI)
