Free Bankruptcy Legal Clinic

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court, in conjunction with volunteer members of the Rhode Island bankruptcy legal community, is pleased to announce a pilot program commencing in January to provide free bankruptcy legal consultations to individuals filing bankruptcy without an attorney.  This program provides debtors with an opportunity to meet, one-on-one, with a volunteer bankruptcy attorney for a free half-hour consultation. The Clinic provides limited legal advice to individuals without an attorney by answering their questions about bankruptcy and required paperwork, as well as how bankruptcy may be used to help prevent foreclosure.  For more information about the Clinic and to schedule an appointment, please visit the Clinic webpage.  The U.S. Bankruptcy Court is extremely grateful to volunteer bankruptcy attorneys John Boyajian, Lisa Geremia, Janet Goldman  and Charlie Pisaturo for their hard work and dedication in the establishment of the Clinic.
