The Rhode Island Bar Association’s Foreclosure Prevention Project offers pro bono legal services to eligible Rhode Islanders experiencing financial issues that may lead to the loss of their homes.  These include:

  • Loss of Employment/Salary Decrease
  • Divorce /Separation
  • Death of a Family Member
  • Illness
  • Loss of Child Support/Alimony
  • Benefits Cut, Pending or Denied

To apply for help, please telephone (401) 421-7758, and a Rhode Island Bar Association Public Service Program staff member will speak to you to discuss your issue and eligibility for legal assistance from a Rhode Island attorney.

If your case is placed with a volunteer attorney, you will receive their contact information. Their legal services are free of charge with the exception of any court costs or other minor litigation costs.

The Foreclosure Prevention Project is funded by the Rhode Island Bar Foundation and offered as a public service of the Rhode Island Bar Association.
