New Instructions for Bankruptcy Case Opening

| 6-21-2006 | The CM/ECF System will be unavailable from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Thursday June 29, 2006 to perform system maintenance and upgrade the CM/ECF software to Release 3.0. Many changes will be made to this new release. A document has been prepared which summarizes some of the major changes which will impact the use of CM/ECF for external filers. If there are any questions regarding how to use CM/ECF in Release 3.0, please call the CM/ECF Help Desk at 1-401-528-4477 Ext. 14.. The effective date for Release 3.0 is June 29, 2006. |
| 6-20-2006 | The Certificate of Exigent Circumstance is a statement of facts which must be signed and include: • the specific exigent circumstance; • the date on which the debtor attempted to obtain counseling; • the reason why the counseling could not be obtained on that date; and • the following statement: “I hereby affirm or attest that the above information is true to the best of my knowledge and belief”. All Certificates of Exigent Circumstance are subject to review for acceptability, and further action taken as appropriate. If the Certificate of Exigent Circumstance is deemed accepted, the debtor will be allowed an additional 30 days to obtain the required counseling. |
