How do I get admitted to practice in the Bankruptcy Court?

Attorneys who are admitted to the bar of the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island may practice before the bankruptcy court. To apply for admission, an attorney must complete a course given by the U.S. District Court and take the Federal Bar examination, given once a year on the last Saturday in January. Alternatively, if duly qualified, an attorney may seek to be admitted by filing a Petition for Admission without Examination, for court approval. A $50.00 admission fee payable to the Clerk, U.S. District Court, is also required. For further information on attorney admission procedures, contact:
