The C.A.R.E. program is designed to educate junior and senior high school students throughout Rhode Island in general financial subjects to prepare them for the financial responsibilities they will encounter as young adults. The program provides high school educators access to local volunteer lawyers and bankruptcy court employees who teach teens about the importance of using consumer credit wisely, avoiding credit card debt and the consequences that result from abusing credit.
Due to staffing reductions, the Bankruptcy Court is no longer able to offer in-class presentations. However, we will continue to offer a limited number of auditorium style presentations each year. If your school is interested in having an auditorium style presentation of the CARE program given to your students (should involve at least 50 students), please fill out the Sign Up sheet below, and the CARE Coordinator will be in touch with you. The CARE program typically runs about one hour long.
